Thursday 26 October saw the hosting of a cancer Beauty Bash in association with The Beauty Factory.  The evening saw a total of 30 customers enjoying an evening of prize giveaways and light entertainment. Representatives from Pink Chicks and a medical practitioner were on hand to provide insight into early warning signs for breast cancer.

Each customer in attendance received a R200 Beauty Factory gift voucher sponsored by Fourways Mall as well as a prize hamper sponsored by The Beauty Factory.

Fourways Mall recently hosted the first of two Trendspend promotions at the Centre - an event which promises to make an annual appearance! Various Tenants displayed their latest stock and we even had live freeze models throughout the campaign to create a little bit of mystery for shoppers.

This Mother's Day Fourways Mall and The Beauty Factory spoilt 30 Fourways Mall customers to a morning of all expenses paid pampering and refreshments. Each guest received a R200 Beauty Factory voucher, sponsored by Fourways Mall, as well as a R100 discount Spa voucher. Guest host Amor Vittone was also on hand to share her favorite beauty tips and Beauty Factory products.

Fourways Mall recently hosted the Easter Lego Buildathon at the Junxion Court between 2 and 29 April. Members of the Lonehill Fire Station and EMS visited the Mall to assist with the build and 10 children from the Johannesburg Children's Hospital, in association with Reach for a Dream, also came along to join in the fun. The Buildathon, saw 190 000 pieces of Lego being used to build a 4m Fire Engine and 2m Fireman which will be on display in the Junxion Court until 6 May.

Fourways Mall once again hosted the annual CANSA Shavathon on Saturday 3 March between 9am and 3pm in the Junxion Court to help raise funds for the fight against Cancer.

 "We have all been touched by this disease in some way or another and the Shavathon is a great way to bring everyone together in solidarity against it," explains Fourways Precinct Marketing Manager Marjike Arran. "This is the 9^th annual Shavathon and it has lodged itself in the hearts of many. We feel it is an excellent initiative and a great way for all to contribute in a small way in the fight against the disease."

There is nothing like the month of love to get your romantic juices flowing - it gives you the excuse to get a little soppy and spoil the one you love. This year, Fourways Mall hosted a ‘Wall of Love' outside C.N.A from 3 to 14 February. Customers and local schools were invited to submit works of art, messages and poems for Valentine's Day and lucky draw prizes were handed out to 10 lucky entrants.

Wonderful heart shaped balloons were also handed out to customers on Tuesday 14 February.

Fourways Mall recently hosted Steve D in support of the Beeld Senior Fund to raise support and awareness for the needs of the elderly. In association with Solidarity Helping Hand, The Beeld Senior Fund was started in January of this year and aims to raise funds and awareness for the elderly.

Steve D has visited over 130 retirement villages and old age homes in Gauteng since January and the Senior Fund aims to create awareness for the needs of the elderly as well as encourage the public to donate necessities such as toiletries, consumables and funding to cater for the needs of the elderly.

"Fourways Mall is proud to be associated with the Senior Fund and we believe in the importance of providing for the elderly," explains Fourways Precinct Communications Executive, Gayle Crow. "Fourways Mall is about family and what better way to prove this than collecting and providing for the elderly in our community."

Smurfalicous fun was had by all who visited Fourways Mall on Friday 30 September when the Smurfs came to visit. There was face painting, colouring in and Wii Games and of course the lovely Smurf characters to keep everyone entertained. The movie is on cinema in 3D at Ster-Kinekor and is a great way to keep the kids entertained this holiday.

KidsCo Channel's ‘save the environment' ambassador, Boo the orangutan, made a stopover at Fourways Mall on Saturday 24 and Sunday, 25 September to spread his message of ‘re-use and recycle'. The Malaysian-born orphaned orangutan, seen daily on KidsCo on DStv channel 308 and TopTV channel 255, is back in SA after a short trip to Zambia.

Boo interacted with kids posing for photographs and getting his fans to watch and engage with his environment-saving tips on his show. Boo also previewed a sneak peak of his play for his audience.

Boys and girls of all ages grabbed a pair of skates and took a spin on our mobile ice-rink at the Junxion Court outside Spur. But the fun didn't stop there! Our activity corner, sponsored by Lego and Spur provided hours of entertainment for the young at heart.

Fourways Mall recently hosted the much loved Gem & Mineral Show that was jam packed full of jewels and gems for the whole family to enjoy.

People of all ages took advantage of the opportunity to examine some of Mother Earth's finest offerings including a multitude of gemstones, mineral specimens, crystal formations and, of course, the wonderful jewellery, ornaments and accessories created from these fine gems.

The ever popular scratch patch was on hand to keep the kids entertained for hours and digging for that elusive ‘perfect find’.

“The event was a great success and we aim to build on it again in 2012,” explains Promotions Executive Natasha Smit. “We believe in the importance of providing more than just a retail service and will be hosting numerous events in the future to spoil our customers and their families.”

This weekend saw two of Disney’s favourite characters, Winnie the Pooh and his good friend Tigger, visiting Fourways Mall to entertain children and adults alike. From interactive storytelling to craft activities and photographs fun was had by all who came to see these lovable characters from 100 Acre Wood. 

The weekend culminated in the premier of the movie that was screened on Sunday afternoon where guests were treated to delicious cupcakes, coke and popcorn and jam packed goodie bags as well as a special photograph with Winnie and Tigger. 5FM DJ’s Sureshnie Ryder and Catherine Grenfell as well as musician Heinz Winckler enjoyed the afternoon’s festivities.
As part of the celebrations and to honour all the much loved moms in attendance, Fourways Mall handed out 500 free cappuccino vouchers for Mother’s Day.

The Fourways Mall Motorshow was held from 7-12 April and provided ample opportunity for car enthusiasts to enjoy the latest and greatest offerings from the motor industry.
With everything from Audi’s to Landrover’s on display there was something for everyone to enjoy. The show, hosted at the Mall, is an annual event that has become a fixture on many a car enthusiast’s calendar.

From your day to day cars to the exotic vehicles that dreams are made of, the show proved a great success and was enjoyed by many.

Valentine’s Day was hosted with a twist at Fourways Mall this year with 5FM, Clapham Gold and Chevy Spark celebrating the single side of love.

448 speed daters attended the event in Johannesburg in an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the most number of speed dates happening at one time. A simultaneous event was held at the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town, with 432 daters attending.

Dates lasted 2.5 minutes and participants were given the opportunity to date 5FM DJ’s and Vuzu TV presenters in each of the five Chevy Sparks parked at the venues.

The record was broken twice in one night – first in Cape Town and then in Johannesburg after approximately two hours of dating. Official confirmation of the success is still pending by Guinness but is expected over the next few weeks.

Fourways Mall took part in the “Vuvuzela Moment” today at 12pm. It was a huge success with many supporters. The crowd marched through the parking lot blowing on their Vuvuzelas and creating the most spectacular spirit. A big thank you to all that came, supported, and blew on their Vuvuzelas.
