Fourways Mall and Woolworths Charity Fashion Show
Fourways Mall together with Woolworths is hosting an esteemed Fashion Show on Friday 06 October 2006. The show is in aid of the charity organisation - Zizanani.
Zizanani is essentially a humanitarian organization motivated by Glenys van Halter, with the objective of empowering young women living in an impoverished environment. Zizanani is based in Randburg and helps women from Thembisa , the Diepsloot and Zevenfontein informal settlements (north of Fourways), and the Kya Sands Squatter camps.
Zizanani is behind the establishment of pre-school centres in the squatter camps where children are taught by the local mothers who are in need of training in pre school education. Zizannani also feeds 210 children daily in these areas and are making sure they are getting educated.
The terrible realities of the socio-economic conditions in which these people live are the main reasons for the Fashion Show. Tickets for the show are sold at R100 and there are only 300 tickets available.
The ticket includes breakfast at either Wimpy or Ruby's in Fourways Mall after which the Fashion Show will take place in the Junxion Court, Lake Level of the mall. During the show models will show off Woolworths' new spring/summer wardrobe, the crowd will be entertained by Zizanani singers and dancers and there will also be a lucky draw at the end of the show with fantastic prizes like designer couches, weekend getaways and much more up for grabs.
